| The Grand Collomia has a unique color in the Tahoe
floral kingdom. This is one of my favorites. |
 |
| Bridges Gilia is a small flower with lots of color when
you see if up close. It usually forms large mats so you think you
are standing on a carpet of pinkish blue. |
 |
| The Scarlet Gilia or Skyrocket is a standout flower.
Doesn't it look like it is flying? The Skyrocket has the classic trumpet
shape of a Phlox member. |
 |
| Great Polemonium has more of a bowl shape than a
trumpet, but manages to be striking just like the others in the family.
Notice the three branched stigma (female reproductive part that receives
the pollen) extending out to you. |
